Citing Aquinas

CITING THE SUMMA

Citing the Summa Theologiae is one of the four instances in which you should use parenthetical (in-text) citations when writing a paper at Catholic International Univeristy. Citing the Bible, the Catechism, and Papal Encyclicals are the other three situations in which you should use parenthetical citations.

In-text citations do not require a footnote.

All sources referred to in your in-text citations must be listed in your Bibliography.

View the follow pdf for more details.

CITING COMMENTARIES, EBOOKS & PRINT BOOKS

Aquinas' commentaries and other works, besides the Summa, should be cited using footnotes based on where you sourced the work. The most common sources are websites, ebooks, and print books.
