According to history, the creator of the Christmas Novena was an Italian priest, Reverend Charles Vachetta. He composed the Christmas Novena in 1721 and based it on Old Testament prophecies and Psalms. The Christmas Novena spread throughout Italy through the Vincentians, Daughters of Charity, and Salesians of Don Bosco.
The Christmas Novena takes place over nice days. It begins December 16th and continues until Christmas Eve. It is a popular religious custom that aims to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus with faith, hope, joy and love.
